Salem City has installed pressurized irrigation (PI) water meters on all customer connections at the beginning of 2023 to comply with State of Utah mandates, encourage water conservation, preserve a reliable water supply, and increase equity in billing.

A tiered rate structure based on usage will allow the City to more equitably distribute system costs among users based on actual water use. A 3% increase will be applied to the base rates of all customers. The intent of this rate structure is to more equitably distribute costs among users and discourage wasteful use.
